Beware!
Your preconceptions about what an album should or
should not be are about to be challenged.
Jolly Demis is a comic, but he's also a singer/songwriter.
After years of making more "standard" albums
filled with songs and four second pauses, Jolly has
responded to his fans who, after hearing one of his
earlier albums have asked, "Where's the funny
stuff? We see you on stage interacting with the audience,
cracking wise, telling jokes, shooting from the hip,
forcing us to laugh at ourselves, and never finishing
a song. We like your tunes, man, but we love your
comedy. WHERE'S THE FUNNY STUFF?"
Jolly has made an elaborate and ambitious new recording
to answer that question. "FUNNY STUFF" may
seem unique in its approach, but comes from a noble
and time-honored tradition. It's a cross between old-time
radio theater, musical comedy, and Fireside Theatre.
This is an Audio Play. It has plot, conflict, character
development, world class sound effects, jokes, songs,
a cast of thousands, and HEART. "FUNNY STUFF"
tells the story of the trials and joys felt by anyone
who is compelled to stand in front of a crowd and
share something. This is an allegory for those drawn
to show business. And the grand finale, in true Esther
Williams style, features an 80 voice chorus singing
"Don't Take Yourself So Seriously"!
This CD should not be compared to other recent music
or comedy releases. Those projects, however fine they
are, would not want to compete in the same arena with
"FUNNY STUFF". Compare it instead to Prairie
Home Companion or one of John Cusack's movies. Or,
be bold and experience it with no frame of reference
at all!
Listen to this project only after you've accepted
the fact that "FUNNY STUFF" is the most
unusual recording you have. Pull up a chair, have
a seat, (popcorn optional) put up your feet and take
in a show. You'll find "FUNNY STUFF" to
be a most cinematic listen.

The
latest CD release from Jolly Demis, “EVOLUTION”,
displays the musical side of this talented singer-songwriter.
It’s a collection of 20 songs digitally mastered
to give a fully produced project like never heard
before. “EVOLUTION” includes songs Jolly
has written and performed over the years such as “Alexandra”,
the song Jolly wrote right after the birth of his
daughter. The funny stuff also comes out in such hits
as “Jammin’ in my Jammies” about
Jolly’s grandmother who’s hooked on reggae
music as well as “ I Saw Elvis at Kmart”,
recorded by country legend, Billy Walker. Also included
on the CD is “Christmas Time Again” Jolly’s
holiday classic that started his TV jingle writing
career for KUSA Channel 9 in Denver. Over the years
“Christmas Time Again” has been a holiday
standard for numerous television stations from coast
to coast! This cd includes wonderful artwork as well
as a small bio by Jolly, describing a reflective tidbit
on each song. This is a must for any Jolly Demis fan
with over 75 minutes of listening enjoyment!
